Madan Lal's artistic exhibition celebrates musk deer inspiration

A new art exhibition titled "Meadows of Life-Scape" showcases the work of artist Madan Lal at the Government Museum. Madan Lal, who moved from Punjab to Chandigarh in 1982 to pursue his passion for art, has spent years learning and developing his skills. The exhibition features Madan Lal's unique creations, including sculptures inspired by the musk deer, known for their fragrant 'kasturi'. His artwork blends imagination and reality, inviting viewers into a dream-like world with vibrant colors and shapes. Art historian Saroj Rani praises him for his expressive use of color, which brings his art to life. In addition to Madan Lal, the exhibition also highlights Ishwar Dayal, who has had a significant impact on the art community. Dayal, who arrived in Chandigarh in 1979, has not only been a painter but also a mentor to many young artists. He played a key role in establishing Artspace, a center that provides art education to those outside the traditional structure. Dayal is celebrating his 70th year with a retrospective exhibition titled "Unparalleled Journey." His work reflects his deep connection to Indian roots while embracing modern techniques. He continues to inspire new generations of artists with his passion and dedication to print-making and graphic arts. Both artists contribute richly to the local art scene, blending tradition and innovation in their teaching and creative endeavors.
