Madhya Pradesh defeats Maharashtra in men's basketball championships

Madhya Pradesh defeated Maharashtra 84-79 in a close match. This win allows Madhya Pradesh to advance to the men's quarterfinals of the National under-23 basketball championships. The game took place at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati on Friday. Son Kumar scored 26 points, and Rakesh Kumar Sharma added 22 points for Madhya Pradesh. They will join other teams such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Kerala in the quarterfinals. The last team will be the winner between Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. In the women's section, eight teams have also made it to the quarterfinals. These teams are Kerala, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. Other results from the pre-quarterfinals include Rajasthan beating Andhra Pradesh 83-74, and Punjab winning against Nagaland 95-51. Teams like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala also recorded wins in their matches.
