A magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit Nueva Era town in Ilocos Norte on Saturday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake occurred at 7:17 p.m., five kilometers east of the town. The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a shallow depth of five kilometers.
