Maharaja College students study Bhojpur's Musahar community
Students from Maharaja College in Ara are starting a five-day internship program to study the Musahar community in Bhojpur. This initiative is part of a collaboration with the NGO Nayi Aasha. The Musahar community is considered one of the most disadvantaged groups in the area. On the first day of the project, the team visited Chaurai village in the Udwantnagar block. They conducted a socio-economic survey and identified 132 households. This work will help lay the groundwork for a more detailed study in the coming days. The principal of Maharaja College, Alok Kumar, highlighted the importance of the survey. He said that the results could help both the community and government policymakers. They will be able to take better actions to improve the living conditions of the Musahar people. The internship program will run until March 22. Activities will include household surveys, community interactions, and data collection. Local health workers and community representatives are also helping the survey team with their efforts.
