Maharashtra announces ₹41,730 crore road upgrade project
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced an important step forward in the state's infrastructure on March 22, 2025. This announcement came as part of the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) Phase-1 project, which will improve 6,000 kilometers of roads with an investment of ₹41,730 crore. In a message on X, Mr. Fadnavis shared that the project is ahead of schedule, with 5% more progress made than expected under the state's 100-day program. He noted the strong financial support from several banks, including HUDCO and Canara Bank, which helped secure ₹25,875 crore for the project. Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that there are plans to complete infrastructure projects worth ₹1 lakh crore this year. This is seen as a major change for the development of Maharashtra. The announcement followed a review meeting with the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation. During this meeting, Mr. Fadnavis stressed the importance of focusing on road development in essential areas to ensure high-quality work and the smart use of resources.
