Maharashtra CEO to meet political parties for resolutions
Maharashtra's chief electoral officer, S Chockalingam, will meet with political parties this month to address unresolved electoral issues. This follows directives from the Election Commission of India, which seeks suggestions from parties by April 30. The Election Commission emphasized the importance of regular communication with political parties to strengthen electoral processes. Officials are required to resolve issues within the legal framework and report progress by March 31. Some political leaders have expressed doubts about the effectiveness of these consultations, noting that past interactions have not led to visible changes. The Election Commission insists that its guidelines support a transparent electoral system.
