Maharashtra CM appoints QCI to evaluate action plan

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

The government of Maharashtra, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has appointed the Quality Council of India (QCI) to evaluate its 100-day action plan. This is the first time in a while that the state has hired an external agency for this purpose. The General Administration Department (GAD) announced the decision on Wednesday. No specific timeline has been set for QCI to complete its evaluation. The CM had previously requested that department heads submit their action plans after taking office in early January. He held several meetings to assess the situation and ensure that each department had a clear road map for the 100-day plan. Fadnavis had convened a special meeting on January 7, 2025, with all departmental heads and divisional commissioners. He presented a seven-point action plan to guide bureaucratic efforts from January 7 to March 16, 2025. The GAD instructed departments to create a user-friendly website that complies with the Right to Information (RTI) Act. Additionally, the CM emphasized the need for a review of existing systems and rules, with a focus on cleanliness in office areas. The QCI's role will be to assess the progress of the newly established seven-point action plan.
