PUNE: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has reported 445 cases of cheating in this year's HSC and SSC exams. This marks a slight decrease from last year, thanks to a successful campaign to reduce cheating. During the class 12 HSC board exams, 353 cases of cheating were recorded. In the class 10 SSC exams, there were 92 cases. Last year, there were 356 cases in HSC and 140 in SSC. The largest number of cheating cases this year came from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, which accounted for 55% of the total. The decrease in cheating cases is attributed to the MSBSHSE's efforts to control cheating and prevent paper leaks, which happened last year. The HSC exams took place from February 11 to March 17 for all streams. Sharad Gosavi, the chairman of the state board, praised the teamwork of officials, principals, teachers, and school staff for supporting the campaign. He stated that they will continue to focus on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, where monitoring is particularly challenging during exams.
