Mahindra plans CKD assembly plant in South Africa

Mahindra South Africa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Industrial Development Corporation to study the feasibility of establishing a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) vehicle assembly plant in the country. The company is also expanding its current assembly operations in KwaZulu-Natal as it marks 20 years in South Africa. Mahindra aims to enhance its local manufacturing capabilities and integrate further into the automotive industry. The feasibility study will evaluate factors like industry incentives, export potential, and supply chain logistics. No commitment to building the CKD facility has been made at this stage.
