Mahmoud Khalil investigated as national security threat

Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia University student, is under investigation as a national security threat. He was arrested by ICE on March 9, 2025, for allegedly supporting Hamas, following President Trump's executive orders against anti-Israel protests. Secretary of State Marco Rubio received intelligence indicating Khalil posed a threat. The Department of Homeland Security has been monitoring individuals involved in pro-Hamas activities since the executive order was issued. Khalil is currently detained in Louisiana. Khalil has filed a petition in federal court, claiming his constitutional rights were violated during his arrest. His attorney stated that ICE agents informed him his green card had been revoked.
