Maine events include Roller Derby and Ray LaMontagne concert
Maine residents have some exciting upcoming events. Tickets are now available for the Maine Roller Derby and Ray LaMontagne concerts in Portland. The Monmouth Community Players will present the musical "Ride the Cyclone," starting on April 18 and running until April 27. The show takes place at Cumston Hall in Monmouth. It tells the story of six young choir singers who face a roller coaster accident. In purgatory, they meet a mechanical fortune teller who gives them a second chance at life. Tickets cost $20, or $17 for seniors and students, and can be bought at monmouthcommunityplayers.org. On June 14-15, Maine Roller Derby will host a tournament named Skatecationland at Happy Wheels in Westbrook. The all-star team will compete against teams from New Brunswick, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. This event is significant for Maine's position in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. Tickets for one day are $20, or you can get a two-day pass for $30 at mainerollerderby.com. Singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne is also returning to Portland. He will perform to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album, “Trouble.” LaMontagne will perform at the State Theatre on September 29 and 30. Tickets for these shows cost between $125 and $250 and are on sale at statetheatreportland.com. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets early, as these events may sell out quickly.
