Malabon and Navotas 4Ps beneficiaries receive smartphones

inquirer.net

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has given new smartphones to about 50 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Malabon and Navotas. This initiative allows them to receive their monthly grants via e-wallets instead of cash cards. This effort is part of a digital financial inclusion program called “e-Panalo ang Kinabukasan.” The program aims to help 4Ps households learn how to use online apps like GCash for their financial needs. Under this initiative, over 30,000 mobile phones will be distributed to beneficiaries. Those living in difficult or isolated areas will be given priority. The DSWD stated that the smartphones were provided to them at no cost, as they were sponsored by telecom partners.
