A man has pleaded guilty to killing a mother and daughter in a motorway crash. The incident took place on the M4 between Chippenham and Bath on October 20, 2023. The victims were Cheryl Woods, 61, and her daughter Sarha Smith, 40, both from Caerphilly. Firas Zeineddine, 46, from Keynsham near Bristol, admitted to causing death by careless driving at Swindon Crown Court. He had been charged with a more serious offense, causing death by dangerous driving, but chose to accept the lesser charges. Judge Jason Taylor KC noted that much of the evidence against Zeineddine came from his own Tesla, which recorded the crash using multiple cameras. The family of the victims remembered them as devoted mothers and grandmothers. They described Cheryl as selfless and deeply proud of her Welsh heritage. Sarha, following her mother's example, also dedicated herself to her family's needs. Her legacy continues through her six daughters, who cherish her memory. Zeineddine is scheduled to be sentenced on April 28.
