Man arrested at Manchester Airport for drug conspiracy
Kane Molyneux, a 33-year-old man, was arrested at Manchester Airport while trying to flee to Dubai. He was caught after detectives discovered a photo he sent, showing his hand covered in drugs. Molyneux was using the EncroChat messaging platform, which is popular among criminals for its encrypted communications. Molyneux, from Vauxhall, is linked to the large-scale supply of Class A and B drugs. His arrest was part of Operation Venetic, a major crackdown on drug trafficking that followed the hacking of the EncroChat network. This allowed law enforcement to access messages and images related to Molyneux’s illegal activities. In court, it was revealed that Molyneux's EncroChat handle was 'Sauvesage'. The incriminating photo showed his hand covered in 2CP, a psychedelic drug. His fingerprints matched those on the image, leading to more evidence of his involvement in drug supply. Today, Molyneux was sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to supply various illegal drugs, including heroin and cocaine. Detective Sergeant Craig Doyle expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime in the area. Authorities encourage the public to report any information about drug dealing or criminal activities. People can contact Merseyside Police directly or reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously.
