Man arrested for assaulting woman in Thiruvananthapuram

Police in Thiruvananthapuram have arrested a 52-year-old man named Rajan for allegedly sexually assaulting a 55-year-old woman. The incident occurred at her home near Ponmudi on Sunday evening. The woman reported that Rajan broke into her quarters, where she lives alone, around 8 PM. After the assault, she informed local residents about what happened the next morning. According to police, the accused had been stalking the woman for some time. Officials took Rajan into custody and charged him with rape. He has worked at the local estate for the past year and a half. Following his arrest, police conducted a medical examination as part of the investigation. Rajan has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days while inquiries continue.
