Man arrested for bomb hoax at Bombay High Court
Security was increased at the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court after police received a bomb threat call on Monday evening. The call was later found to be a hoax. A 50-year-old man named Omprakash Vaswani was arrested in connection with the threat. Police said Vaswani was arrested at his home in Jaripatka. He was taken into custody by the crime branch and later handed over to the Sadar police station. Reports indicate that he has been receiving treatment for psychological issues. Vaswani reportedly called emergency services to falsely claim that terror suspects were planning to blow up the high court building. After the call, he deleted the log from his phone. The crime branch tracked him down using details from his cellphone. Vaswani initially claimed he had visited the high court to check on a petition related to his sisters-in-law, who faced charges related to abetment of suicide. However, he later changed his story, saying the case was actually in the Supreme Court, according to crime branch inspector Sandeep Buwa.
