Man arrested for drug trafficking in Kozhikode

A man suspected of drug trafficking was arrested in Kozhikode on Friday, March 21, 2025. The person, named P.V. Mirshad, is from Thamarassery and is linked to several synthetic drug cases. Excise officials report that Mirshad was found with 58 grams of MDMA when he was waiting for clients in Iringadanpally. He is known as Masthan and has been identified as a leader of local drug peddler gangs in the Puthuppadi and Thamarassery areas. Mirshad was close friends with another individual, Shanid, who died recently after swallowing MDMA during a police chase. The special squad continues to investigate the drug trafficking network.
