Man arrested for drunken driving in Coimbatore

A 43-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in Coimbatore early Sunday morning. The incident occurred near Singanallur around 4:30 AM. Police stopped the car after an ambulance driver reported that the car was blocking the way for the ambulance. The man, identified as K Anbuselvan from MGR Nagar in Singanallur, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. During a search of his vehicle, police discovered an air rifle. Both the car and the rifle were seized. Initial investigations revealed that Anbuselvan, who has a BTech degree and works in an IT firm in Bengaluru, was feeling depressed due to a family dispute. A case for drunken driving has been filed against him, but he was released into the custody of his family. The investigation is ongoing.
