Man arrested for neighbor's murder in Dhenkanal

A man was arrested on Saturday for the murder of his neighbor in Dhenkanal district. The incident took place in Bhalumunda village, where a 38-year-old man, Jugal, is accused of killing his neighbor, Lulu Dehury. Lulu, who was 30 years old and worked in an industrial job, was found dead on Thursday in a forest. He had suffered severe head injuries. Villagers reported Lulu missing after he did not return from the Dola Melana festival held on Wednesday night. Initial police investigations found no leads until Jugal, whose home is next to Lulu’s, became a suspect. During questioning, Jugal admitted to the murder. Reports show that the two had worked together in Tamil Nadu eight years ago. Recently, Jugal had doubts about his wife and Lulu’s relationship. On the night of the festival, Jugal lured Lulu into the forest and attacked him with an axe. The police later recovered the weapon. According to Gyana Ranjan Mishra, an SDPO in the area, no other suspects are currently involved, but the investigation is still ongoing.
