Man arrested for robbing and injuring elderly woman

A man named Rajan has been arrested for attacking and robbing an elderly woman in Jalandhar. The incident took place in the Guru Gobind Singh Avenue colony. Police say Rajan entered the woman's home armed with a cleaver. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Nirmal, Rajan injured the woman while escaping with her mobile phone. The police arrived quickly after receiving the report, and the robbery was captured on CCTV. The footage has been widely shared online. Rajan, who is reportedly a drug addict, had been found with the stolen mobile phone and the weapon used in the attack. Senior political leader Bikram Singh Majithia condemned the rise in crime in Punjab, expressing concern over the lack of safety and law enforcement in the region. He highlighted recent violent incidents, including attacks and robberies, calling for answers and action.
