Man arrested for selling spoiled sheep and goat offal

One person has been arrested for selling stale offal from sheep and goats. The suspect, Mohd Afroz, is 40 years old and owns a store called 'A to Z Sheep & Goat Offal' in Mangalhat. The arrest happened during a raid by the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-West Zone, along with a veterinary doctor. They found 12 tonnes of spoiled offal worth ₹8 lakh. The officers received a tip-off about the illegal activities. Afroz allegedly obtained low-cost, spoiled offal from wholesale markets. He then stored it in his shop before selling it to hotels, events, and marriage functions. The seized offal included various parts, like trotters, heads, and organs. Authorities have warned that eating stale offal can lead to serious health problems, including food poisoning and infections. The investigation is ongoing.
