Man arrested for shooting during shoe sale robbery
A 24-year-old man was arrested following a shooting and robbery at Kōwhai Park in Feilding. The incident occurred when a victim was shot in the leg after refusing to pay for a pair of shoes. The shoes were listed for $2000 on an online marketplace. According to Detective Sergeant Joe Salisbury, the suspect faces charges of aggravated robbery and wounding. The police apprehended him today, two and a half months after the January 4 incident. A friend of the victim said they had gone to the park to meet a seller. They arrived at the meeting spot around 4 PM. While there, three masked individuals confronted them in a car and demanded money.
