Man arrested for stealing phones on trains
A man named Mitrapal has been arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) for stealing mobile phones. He traveled on about 25 trains each month, pretending to be a professional. During a routine patrol, officers became suspicious of his frequent train journeys. When questioned, Mitrapal claimed he had a job that required him to travel often. However, his explanation didn't convince the officers, especially when they found his details amusing. Further investigation revealed the truth about his activities. The GRP is conducting a crime control campaign in Lucknow. During this campaign, officers spotted Mitrapal sitting on platform number five at Hardoi. His appearance raised their suspicions. Under questioning, he admitted to being a mobile thief, and several stolen phones were found in his possession. Mitrapal's method involved blending in with travelers. He would sometimes buy train tickets and make friends with other passengers. He would claim to be from a nearby village, which helped him gain their trust. This trust allowed him to steal their phones and valuables when they were not paying attention. After stealing, he would sell the phones at low prices to unsuspecting buyers. The investigation showed that Mitrapal had a history of theft and had evaded capture multiple times. However, this time, the GRP successfully arrested him.
