A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Gurgaon. The man, named Ankit, is accused of strangling his wife Renu during an argument about visiting her family for the Holi festival. The incident happened on March 3. After the crime, Ankit locked their house and fled to his hometown in Uttar Pradesh. The police became involved when locals noticed a foul smell coming from the locked house on March 7. When the landlord, Paramjeet, could not reach Ankit, he contacted the police. Officers broke into the house and found Renu's decomposed body in the bedroom. A murder case was opened based on the landlord's complaint. Ankit had moved to Gurgaon for work and had been married to Renu for three years. They had a 14-month-old son who is staying with relatives in Delhi. The Manesar crime branch arrested Ankit in Balia, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday night. During questioning, he admitted to the murder. Ankit was taken to court and is now in judicial custody at Bhondsi jail.
