Man arrested in Colorado for 2023 shooting death of Miramar teen

De Sean Phang, 28, was arrested in Colorado on February 6, 2025, for his alleged role in the March 2023 shooting death of 15-year-old Joel Vilsaint in Miramar. Phang was pursued by federal authorities after an arrest warrant was issued on January 17. Phang's arrest follows the earlier capture of Juliean Sellmon, 26, who was arrested in April 2023 and charged with second-degree murder. Sellmon has pleaded not guilty and remains in jail. Vilsaint was shot after a night of playing basketball with friends. He was reported missing days later and was found dead in the hospital on March 27, 2023.
