A 52-year-old man was arrested in Maharashtra after being on the run for 23 years. He is accused of murdering his sister-in-law and kidnapping her baby. The suspect, Mohammad Tarbez Mohammad Idris Ansari, was caught in Dombivli town on Monday while living under a fake name. The incident took place in 2002 in Virar, Palghar district. Police say that on June 6, 2002, Ansari and his brother's second wife, Afrin Banu, murdered Shabana Parvin, who was 30 years old. They allegedly used a sharp weapon to kill her and then kidnapped her five-month-old son. Police sources reveal that Ansari was unhappy about his brother's marriage to Shabana. He reportedly pressured his brother to marry Afrin instead. In 2015, Afrin Banu turned herself in but was later acquitted due to insufficient evidence. After the crime, Ansari first fled to Lucknow, where he spent three years. He then moved to Dombivli, where he lived for 20 years without being detected. The kidnapped child, now a 23-year-old man, lives with his father and stepmother in Lucknow. Police acted on information about Ansari's whereabouts, leading to his arrest.
