Man charged after police chase ends at Scarborough Beach

A 46-year-old man from Beaconsfield has been charged after a police chase ended on Scarborough Beach. The man is accused of stealing a Toyota Prado in Rockingham early Thursday morning. Around 11 am, police saw the Prado on Canning Highway in Victoria Park and tried to stop it. The driver allegedly sped away, driving recklessly through several suburbs, including Victoria Park and Scarborough. He eventually got stuck on the beach, where police arrested him. During the arrest, officers reportedly found a replica firearm and methamphetamine in the vehicle. The man faces multiple charges, including stealing a vehicle, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.
