Man charged with abuse of corpse in Amarillo incident
Amarillo Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a woman found wrapped in plastic in an alley. The suspect, 67-year-old Ronald Milles, now faces a new charge of abuse of a corpse. The victim has been identified as 65-year-old Elizabeth Ann Duckworth. Police are still waiting for autopsy and toxicology results to determine the cause of death. Earlier, Milles was identified as a person of interest after the police received tips from the community. Milles was initially arrested on an unrelated charge on March 13. After his release, he was taken into custody again by SWAT officers on a bond forfeiture warrant. Following this, he was interviewed by homicide investigators, leading to the new charge against him. Police are investigating reports that the woman’s body may have been transported in a stroller around the neighborhood before it was found. The Amarillo Homicide Unit is urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting them directly. There may be more charges as the investigation continues. Police will provide updates as new information emerges.
