Man charged with double murder of two pensioners
A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of two elderly men found stabbed in the street. The incident took place in Moss Side, Manchester, in November 2024. The victims, Sidy Fall, 75, and Norman Scott, 68, were discovered with serious injuries. Mouhamadou Fall, the suspect, lived in Manchester and was arrested shortly after the stabbings. Following an assessment, he was detained under the Mental Health Act. Police reports indicate that one of the victims was known to the suspect. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene on Great Southern Street. Unfortunately, despite efforts from paramedics, both men were pronounced dead at the location. The police launched a murder investigation soon after discovering the bodies. Chief Superintendent David Meeney expressed condolences to the families affected and referred to the incident as "devastating." The police assured the public that there was no ongoing threat, describing the event as isolated.
