Man charged with intoxication manslaughter in Colleyville crash

A man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a fatal crash in Colleyville, Texas, this week. The accident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 26 and Cheek Sparger Road around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. A 62-year-old woman from Bedford lost her life when a Volvo sedan collided with her Mitsubishi Mirage at high speeds. The impact caused both vehicles to be pushed off the road, and they were severely damaged. The woman was trapped inside her car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released. The driver of the Volvo, identified as Jimmie Edwards, is 35 years old. He was hospitalized for evaluation but was later arrested. He faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and resisting arrest. Edwards also had an outstanding warrant related to a previous incident of evading arrest. As of Friday afternoon, he is being held at the Tarrant County Corrections Center with a bond set at $52,000.
