Man charged with second-degree murder in Winnipeg assault
A man in Winnipeg has been charged with second-degree murder after a woman was killed in a domestic assault. The incident happened early Saturday morning at a home on Selkirk Avenue. Police arrived shortly after 3 a.m. They found a 33-year-old woman with serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died. The victim has been identified as Stephanie Anderson-Paupanekis, who was a member of Norway House First Nation. The accused, Jason Matthew Keam, is also 40 years old and a member of the same First Nation. He has been detained in custody following his arrest.
