Man cheats students by impersonating Swiggy employee
A man has been booked by police for pretending to be a representative of Swiggy and trying to scam students looking for jobs. The cybercrime police in Whitefield are searching for Vikram Kumar Singh, who allegedly contacted 17 universities. The case started when N. Harshith, a manager at Swiggy, filed a complaint. Singh posed as a Swiggy employee and emailed the universities, offering job opportunities to students. He requested the universities to provide information about interested students and suggested forming a WhatsApp group for communication. The deception was discovered when Christ University contacted Swiggy to verify the job offers. The university learned that Swiggy had no such program, raising suspicions about Singh's intentions. The police believe he aimed to trick students and possibly collect money by misusing Swiggy's name. The complaint included Singh's contact number, which he gave to the universities to manage the proposed WhatsApp group.
