Man commits suicide on live stream; wife arrested

A tragic incident occurred in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, where a 30-year-old man took his own life during a live stream on Instagram. Shiv Prakash Tripathi went live on March 13, sharing his struggles and accusing his estranged wife, Priya Tripathi, and mother-in-law, Gita Dubey, of mental harassment. The Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested both women based on Tripathi's allegations. They were taken into custody on March 20 and are now in judicial custody. Authorities are investigating the situation under the Indian Penal Code's abetment to suicide section. According to police, Tripathi’s wife was watching the live stream when he revealed his emotional pain before ending his life. The couple, who married two years ago, have a daughter living with her mother. Tripathi claimed his wife was having an affair and was not returning home, while refusing to agree to a divorce. The police are continuing their investigation into the case, considering all aspects of the situation.
