Man dies two years after one-punch attack in Hull
A man has died more than two years after he was seriously injured in a one-punch attack. Gareth Davis, 44, was assaulted in Hull on December 26, 2022. This incident left him with a severe head injury. After the attack, Mr. Davis was placed in an induced coma and later moved to a care home for assistance. On Tuesday, he passed away. Humberside Police reported that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to find out the exact cause of his death. In May 2023, Liam Lovick, 34, was sentenced to six years in prison for the assault. He was convicted of two counts of grievous bodily harm at Hull Crown Court. Following the attack, Mr. Davis and his family participated in a campaign aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of one-punch attacks. His father, William, described Gareth as a "gentle giant who would do anything for anybody." The family is now mourning their tragic loss.
