Man extradited to NSW charged with Sydney murder
A man has been extradited from Queensland to New South Wales after being charged with murder. This relates to the death of 49-year-old Jamie Colgan in Sydney in March 2022. Colgan's body was discovered on March 14, 2022, in a unit on Middleton Road, Leumeah. He had multiple stab wounds and was found rolled up inside a carpet. Following an investigation, detectives from New South Wales traveled to Rockhampton, Queensland, to arrest a 30-year-old man on Thursday. He appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court, where his extradition was approved. After the court appearance, the man was escorted to Sydney. He was charged with murder at Mascot police station. He has been denied bail and will appear in Downing Centre Local Court today.
