Man found not guilty of robbing Dayton cameraman
One of two men accused of robbing a TV cameraman in Dayton has been found not guilty. Billith Lane, 58, was acquitted of robbery charges in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. Lane faced charges along with Christian Morrow, 25, linked to an incident on October 17, 2024. It happened around 5:16 p.m. when a TV cameraman was preparing to film a story at East Fifth and South Main streets. Reports say one man tried to steal the cameraman's equipment while the other struck him with a walking cane. After the attempted robbery, Dayton police released surveillance images to the public to identify the suspects. An anonymous tip led to the arrests of Lane and Morrow on October 18. Morrow, who is still facing robbery charges, is set for trial on April 2.
