Man kills widow and injures nephew in Kota

A 25-year-old man has been detained for allegedly killing his neighbor and injuring her nephew in Kota. The incident occurred late Tuesday night as Amir Hussain reportedly entered the widow's home through a window. The victim, identified as 42-year-old Sumitra Bai, suffered fatal injuries, while her 17-year-old nephew, Arvind, was injured. Police stated that Sumitra died at the scene from injuries to her chest and head. Arvind recognized the attacker as Hussain. After the crime, the suspect fled but was caught by police within four hours. Authorities have charged him with murder under the BNS Act. Sumitra Bai worked as a cook for a school and lived with her son and daughter-in-law, who were asleep in another room during the attack. Police believe there may have been previous enmity between the families, which could have motivated the attack. Investigations are ongoing, and the body has been released to her family after a post-mortem examination.
