Man removed for abusive behavior towards neighbors in Cheltenham
A man named Phillip Herrick, 62, has been removed from his flat in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, after a series of abusive incidents. He was known to insult a female neighbor and physically attack her with his crutches. Herrick frequently harassed people living nearby and staff from the property management service. A court issued him a civil injunction due to his violent behavior, and last year, his flat was forfeited over unpaid service charges. Despite the court's actions, he continued his aggressive behavior towards property management staff. Neighbors described Herrick as violent and threatening. One former neighbor recalled how he would sit on the front doorstep, verbally abuse those passing by, and sometimes physical aggression would follow. This woman reported feeling trapped in her own home and noted that Herrick made it difficult for her to take out the trash or even walk in and out freely. Community officers emphasized the need for residents to live peacefully and said Herrick's actions would not be tolerated. They encouraged anyone witnessing him breaking the court order to report it to the police. The case against Herrick was pursued by a joint team of local law enforcement and council members who aim to restore safety in the area.
