A 41-year-old hairstylist in Malaysia lost $15,000 in a robbery linked to a gay dating app. He had been communicating with a man on the app and agreed to meet him at a house in Seri Kembangan on March 16. When the victim arrived, he used the bathroom. After that, he was confronted by two other men. The three suspects tied him up and demanded he follow their commands. During the ordeal, one suspect hit the victim with a piece of wood, while another accessed his phone to transfer 67,000 ringgit, about $15,134, to a suspect's bank account. The robbers threatened the victim, warning him not to contact the police. Once they released him, the police investigated and arrested five individuals in connection with the crime. These suspects, aged between 18 and 22, are students from local colleges and universities. The police also detained the owner of the bank account used for the stolen money.
