Man sentenced for ganja cultivation in Shivamogga

A man has been convicted for growing ganja on his ginger farm in the Shivamogga District of India. The court sentenced Ningaraj, 47, to four years in prison and imposed a fine of ₹25,000. The case began when the Excise Inspector raided Ningaraj's farm on September 8, 2022. During the raid, officials found ganja plants. Following this, the inspector filed charges against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Manjunath Nayak, the Judge of the Principal District and Sessions Court, oversaw the trial.
