Man sentenced to 20 years for raping minor in Pune
A special court in Pune has sentenced Bhimrao Mukunda Kamble to 20 years in prison for raping a 14-year-old girl in 2017. The court issued the sentence on March 21. Kamble, 27, is from Kalamnuri in Hingoli district. Kamble was charged with rape, physical assault, and making threats against the victim. The girl became pregnant following the attack. The police registered the case at Hadapsar Police Station and used laws from the POCSO Act to charge Kamble. The investigation was led by assistant police inspector Kalyani Shinde, who submitted the charge sheet to the court. The court found sufficient evidence and imposed a fine of ₹10,000. If Kamble does not pay the fine, he will face an additional six months in jail. The state was represented by Additional Public Prosecutor Vikas Ghogare Patil. In recognition of the investigative team’s efforts, deputy commissioner of police Rajkumar Shinde awarded a ₹10,000 reward to officers Mhangre, Gosavi, and Shinde.
