Man shocked by $6 price for economy rice in Bedok

A man was surprised to pay $6 for an economy rice meal at Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre on March 23. He felt this was too expensive for a hawker stall. Stomper Jack ordered white rice, pork chop, curry vegetables, and tau pok. He noticed there were no prices shown for the food. According to a price list, a "2 Veg + 1 Meat" meal should cost $3.80. Jack expected to pay around $4.50, considering he ordered pork chop. When he was told the meal cost $6, he was shocked. He learned that the pork chop alone was priced at $3.50. Jack compared the price to a meal at Koufu food court in Punggol Plaza, which also costs $6 but offers air conditioning and a sit-down environment. He expressed his frustration, saying it is unreasonable for hawker stalls to charge the same as food courts. Jack feels he was taken advantage of and wants to warn others. He advises customers to be cautious of stalls without price tags, suggesting it may indicate they could be overcharged.
