Man slashed in head on Brooklyn subway train
A 67-year-old man was slashed in the head by a suspect with a large knife while riding a subway train in Brooklyn. The attack occurred around 6 p.m. on a northbound C train and appeared unprovoked. Passengers alerted police at the next station, leading to the arrest of 62-year-old Peguy Simonise. He faces multiple charges, including felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. His arraignment is pending. While felony assaults in the subway have decreased this year, this incident is part of a recent rise in attacks. Police have increased their presence in the transit system following several high-profile incidents.
