Man steals 18 gold rings from Ludhiana jewellery store
A man pretending to be a customer stole 18 gold rings from a jewellery store in Samrala, Ludhiana, on Monday evening. The theft happened around 7:45 PM at a shop on Khanna Road. The suspect, about 45 years old, arrived alone in a Hyundai Creta SUV. He asked to see the gold rings while other customers were present. The jeweller mistakenly thought he was with the group and displayed several designer rings. Suddenly, the man grabbed a tray with 18 rings and ran outside to his car. Although the shop staff tried to chase him, he escaped towards Beeja Road. Store owners Rupam Verma and Deepak Verma reported the theft to the police right away. Sub-inspector Pavittar Singh from the Samrala police station responded to the scene and started an investigation. Police reviewed CCTV footage showing the suspect and his vehicle. They have formed teams to find him. The sub-inspector is confident that the man will be arrested soon. Photos and descriptions have been shared with nearby police stations to assist in the search.
