Man threatened leasing office; gun found in vehicle
A man in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, was arrested on March 14 after threatening to shoot up the leasing office at the Drake apartments. The 29-year-old became angry over a policy that restricted package pickups to residents only. Police found him in his car, where they discovered a gun. He denied making any threats but was charged with aggravated menacing. In another incident, an elderly man was caught stealing beauty products and crab legs from a Giant Eagle store on March 13. The 69-year-old had previously stolen from the same store just days earlier. When officers found him at a nearby bank, he was arrested, and additional charges were added for trespassing. On March 14, a boxer dog escaped a fenced yard and attacked two dogs being walked nearby. One of the dogs suffered minor injuries. The owner was cited for allowing his dog to run at large. A Target employee, age 20, was also arrested for theft on March 19. She was accused of stealing items, including an Apple pencil and an iPad, over several months. In another theft on Mayfield Road, an 18-year-old man was cited for stealing beer from Sheetz. He attempted to hide when officers arrived but was found nearby. Additionally, a 40-year-old man was caught with stolen items worth $91 at a bus stop across from Sheetz. He was previously banned from the store and faced trespassing charges. Chick-fil-A reported criminal mischief when someone scattered trash from their dumpster on March 13. Police recognized a 33-year-old man from surveillance footage who had been involved in a previous incident. In a fraud case, Temple Israel New Tamid reported an unauthorized withdrawal of $11,500 from their bank account on March 14. Authorities are investigating the incident. Lastly, an assault was reported on March 20 when a woman claimed her ex-boyfriend pushed her into a guardrail and smashed her phone. The 25-year-old man is wanted for arrest on charges of assault and criminal damaging.
