Manchester United pursuing striker signings as talks commence
Manchester United is actively pursuing a new striker and has already begun discussions about potential signings. A reliable reporter shared that the club is narrowing down its list of candidates to four players: Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, and Victor Osimhen. Man Utd's current strikers, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, have struggled this season, combining for only 14 goals in 83 matches. This lack of scoring has highlighted the need for a stronger attacking option. According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Germany, United is intensively scouting the market for a solution. Gyokeres, currently with Sporting CP, has a €100 million release clause, but reports suggest he could leave for a much lower fee this summer. His strong connection with former coach Ruben Amorim could give United an edge in securing him. Osimhen is another promising option. He is expected to leave Napoli this summer, and while his release clause is €120 million, it will drop to around €75-80 million in July. Meanwhile, Ekitike, who has been making an impact at Eintracht Frankfurt, is valued at €80 million. United hopes to strengthen its squad but faces competition. Some players might be reluctant to join if the club does not qualify for the Champions League. Currently, winning the Europa League is United's only path to achieve this goal.
