Manchester United seeks to sign goalkeeper James Trafford

Manchester United is in talks to sign goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley. Trafford, a former Manchester City youth player, joined Burnley for £15 million in July 2023. His time at Burnley has been successful, especially this season, where he has kept 26 clean sheets in 37 matches. United is looking for a new goalkeeper after Andre Onana’s inconsistent performances. Since joining the team, Onana has conceded 40 goals in 29 Premier League games and only managed eight clean sheets. This has led to criticism, especially as the team is struggling overall. With Altay Bayindir injured, manager Ruben Amorim has limited options. He might have to keep Onana or use a young goalkeeper from the academy.
