Manchester United targets strikers to improve scoring issues
Manchester United is looking to improve its scoring options as the summer transfer window approaches. The team has struggled this season, finding the back of the net only 37 times in 29 Premier League matches. Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have scored just 14 goals in total. Two players being considered are Victor Osimhen from Napoli, currently on loan at Galatasaray, and Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP. Manchester United's manager, Ruben Amorim, has previously worked with Gyokeres and hoped this would attract him to the club. However, it seems unlikely that Gyokeres will join, as he wants to play for a Champions League team and his asking price of £80 million may be too high for United. Regarding Osimhen, journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that there have been no serious discussions about him joining Manchester United at this time. He is on their list of potential targets, but talks have not advanced. Amorim acknowledges that the club did not sign a striker in January, a choice he sees as risky. He emphasizes the need for careful decision-making regarding transfers to avoid past mistakes. The team is currently in a tough position, sitting in 13th place, and he understands the urgency to improve. Amorim believes the upcoming summer will be critical for the team. He wants to bring in players that fit a different profile and is willing to take risks to achieve better results going forward.
