Mancini agrees to manage Juventus amid coaching changes
Juventus is considering firing their manager, Thiago Motta, after a string of poor performances. The team recently lost 3-0 to Fiorentina and 4-0 to Atalanta, increasing pressure on Motta. Reports suggest that he may be let go after Juve's upcoming match against Genoa unless something changes dramatically. If Motta is dismissed, Juventus is likely to hire Roberto Mancini as his replacement. Mancini, a former manager of Manchester City, has been without a job since leaving the Saudi Arabian national team last October. Sources say he has agreed to take the job at Juventus for the rest of the season. The club’s management is reportedly eager to secure Mancini on a four-month contract. They plan to consider extending his contract next season if he can lead the team into the top four of Serie A. Currently, Juventus is in fifth place, just one point behind Bologna in the race for Champions League qualification. In addition to Mancini, Juventus is also looking at Igor Tudor as a potential interim manager. They hope to target bigger names like Antonio Conte or Gian Piero Gasperini in the summer. Motta's agent, Dario Canovi, acknowledged that things have not gone well for his client and admitted mistakes were made. He stated that the past eight months at Juventus have been challenging and criticized the lack of objective assessments of the team's situation.
