Mangla Dam's water level has hit dead level
The water level at Mangla Dam has reached the dead level of 1,050 feet, leading the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) to stop water discharge. Tarbela Dam is currently 3 feet above its dead level and is expected to reach it within 36 hours. Its water level is at 1,402 feet, with only 15,000 acre-feet remaining in storage. Combined water storage across Tarbela, Mangla, and Chashma dams is 102,000 acre-feet. Inflows and outflows at various locations show varying levels, with Tarbela having an inflow of 22,200 cusecs and Mangla an inflow of 19,900 cusecs.
